OFFENSE
The Elks had a good season last year, making the Class 4A playoffs. As they enter the 2024 campaign, head coach Zac Maynard likes the potential that his squad has this season. “We return many starters with great leadership,” he said. “If the right kids step up, we could have a really successful season.” Leading the offense at quarterback will be Logan Webb (6-0, 190, Sr.). He is a solid athlete that will work to get the ball to his playmakers. Joining him in the backfield is a stable of outstanding runners. Reece Burton (6-3, 205, Sr.) will be at halfback, while Tucker Garza (6-0, 200, Jr.) and Jayden Wynn (5-10, 195, Sr.) serve as running backs. All three will look to find the open running lane and get out into the open field. Cole Buie (5-11, 155, Sr.) will be a target at wide receiver. He has good hands and will pull in any passes thrown his way. Anchoring the offensive line will be Aiden Muse (6-4, 270, Jr.) at left tackle.
