The Elk City girls’ golf team enters the spring season with confidence and high standards under head coach Rachel Poole.

“We are a young team overall. We lost one senior. My lineup should consist of three juniors and two sophomores,” Poole said. “I have very high expectations for our team this year and they are aware of that. They had a great season in the Spring 2025 and most of them have been putting in a lot of work since then to improve their game. I look for us to be a contender or winning several tournaments this season.”

Leading the Elkettes is Erin Womack, who brings experience and power to the lineup.

“Erin is an all-around good athlete. She plays softball as well,” Poole said. “She played #1 & #2 bag last year. Over the past year, Erin has put in a lot of time working on her game. The strength of her game is she hits a long tee ball. She has been working hard on her short game, and I believe this Spring she will be consistently in the low 80’s, even 70’s and be in contention at all the tournaments.”

Sophomore Kaidynce Cordell is the team’s underclassman to watch.

“Kaidynce is a talented athlete. She is a very hard worker and wants to do exceedingly well,” Poole said. “She underwent Labrum surgery at the end of October 2025 and has just recently started hitting again. Once, she gets more mobility and confidence back she will be a driving force on our team. She carries herself very well on the golf course and has a great attitude.” Meghan Suter serves as an emotional leader. “Meghan is our team leader. She is high energy and a big motivator,” Poole said. “Meghan makes sure we are all on the same page whether it be our attire, in the vehicle, or even on the putting green. She has such a positive attitude and very friendly. She LOVES to play golf and spends a lot of time at the course working to get better. You will always find Meghan being the center of attention and with a smile on her face. The girls are usually gathered around her.”

Poole also highlighted the rest of her roster: Madilynn Long, Anna Price, Camden Brewster and Natalee Johnston, a group that gives Elk City depth and optimism heading into the season.

With a strong core, high expectations and continued offseason work, the Elkettes look poised to compete for tournament titles this spring.
