VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?

I am a senior at Elk City, and I play baseball.
 

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
 Brent:  Being the leader of the baseball team and getting a clutch pinch hit in a district game last season. That moment really stood out for me and showed how far I’ve come as a player.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?
 Brent:  Baseball has taught me sportsmanship, how to be humble, to work hard, stay mentally strong, and most importantly, to trust God’s plan.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
 Brent:  Mrs. Sutton from 7th and 8th grade. She reminded me a lot of my mom. Even if you were close to her, she never let you get away with being bad—she always held you accountable.

VYPE: Who inspires you?
 Brent:  My dad. He’s always with me in the cages, helping me get better. He’s a wise speaker and constantly motivates me to improve both on and off the field.

VYPE: Which teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
 Brent:  My best friend, Johnny Rogers. He’s the one who got me to start working out and practicing with a purpose. He’s helped shape my work ethic.

VYPE:  What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
 Brent:  My friend Johnny Rogers told me, “The sun still rises tomorrow.” He said that when I was in a slump, and it really helped me move on and keep my confidence.

VYPE:  What’s your all-time favorite meal?
 Brent:  A medium steak with asparagus and jalapeño poppers.
