At Elk City High School, senior Peyton Silas is known not only for her school spirit but for her leadership, dedication, and undeniable impact on the Elk cheer program. A three-time state champion in power tumbling, Peyton brings athleticism, poise, and heart to every performance, serving as a base, occasional top girl, and the team’s dance captain.

Peyton is a vital part of the cheer squad’s success, but for her, it’s about much more than stunts and routines. “What motivates me is the strong bond I have with my team,” she says. “Knowing we’re all working toward the same goal pushes me to give 110% every practice.” Her leadership and commitment are evident on and off the mat, and she credits her coaches and teammates for shaping her into the cheerleader she is today. She also draws inspiration from Gabi Butler, whose passion and perseverance reflect the kind of cheerleader Peyton strives to be.

One of the most influential figures in her life is her cheer coach and teacher, Mrs. Bonner. “She’s pushed me to be my best both in the classroom and on the mat,” Peyton shares. “Her support and belief in me have helped me grow as a person.”

Outside of cheer, Peyton is active in FCCLA (serving as secretary), Student Council, FCA, National Honor Society, and hopes to contribute to the Senior Class Committee. She’s also deeply rooted in her faith, finding daily inspiration from Christian singer Anne Wilson.

Peyton’s ability to juggle academics and extracurriculars comes down to discipline and time management. She takes pride in representing her school and community, and it shows in everything she does. “It’s about being a positive example, lifting others up, and honoring the people who believe in us.”

Looking ahead, Peyton plans to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she hopes to continue her cheer career and grow both as an athlete and a student. With her work ethic, leadership, and heart, there’s no doubt she’ll continue to shine—both on the sidelines and beyond.
