Q&A with Elk City’s Katie Spitz – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Rib Crib

Elk City cheerleader Katie Spitz spoke to VYPE about her life.


VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals of this year are to get more comfortable in situations I’m scared of or to do.


VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
This year I had the most fun at the football games cheering on the side lines and cheering our boys.


VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
I don’t have a favorite teacher but I do have a teacher who left a big impact because she forgot who I was and made me do math I’ve the summer for three years she taught me that I need to stand for myself and be loud.


VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athlete memory was winning Junior Olympics in competitive tumbling.


VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The athlete who left the biggest impression on me was Addison Jones she is now a great friend of mine but she has helped to become mentally and physically stronger.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on the cheer team is watching everyone get better at what they have worked so hard to do.


VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
Is I could go anywhere I would want to go somewhere foreign I don’t quite know where but I think I would enjoy it and I would take Addison.


VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I had $500 dollars I would send it on Christmas shopping for everyone.


VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I’m in Interact, Key club, and National Honors Society.
